Almost 2012

As we can see, I have met most of the resolutions I set for myself in 2011! have kept off all the weight I lost in 2010, and have continued the healthy habits that got me there. Although I have not lost any weight since then…I am much tighter and more toned, and it shows! Here I am in the same yoga top last January, and today:

In addition, I did run that half-marathon (yeah, I know…you are aware…stop bragging), have been nicer to my kids and husband (really!) and eat loads more fruit and protien…and slightly more veggies!!

As for the resolutions I didn’t meet, I have made progress. I definitely spend more time with friends than I did last year, and probably family as well…but not enough to check it off. I have also made some positive changes to my spending, but not enough to check it off. As for less time online…eh…probably not. However, since it doesn’t seem to be hurting me any, I’m cool with that.

Next year: keep up the good work, spend more time with friends and family, and cut that debt!!!

Hoodie!!!

I got out to the mall nice and early this morning to check out the Boxing Day deals. I especially wanted to go to Lululemon, but after standing in line for 20 minutes, I was not impressed. There was lots of stuff on sale, but the two items I have been lusting for had already been on the clearance rack before Boxing Day, and the Boxing Day price was no lower. So out to the rest of the mall I went. I was mindful of my budget, and only got one thing, but it’s a score! I have been wearing a warm fleece-lined hoodie I got from Walmart in September or so for 20 bucks to and from the gym for months now. It is cheap and pilling and the sleeves have actually shrunk so much that I have to pull them longer every time I wear it to not expose my wrists. I hate it and have been wanting a Lululemon hoodie like everybody else at my gym wears, but for the price there is just no way I would do it…my winter coat is cheaper and really it is just something to throw on to go to and from the gym, and run some errands on the way. I will pay Lululemon prices for function (the running tank I wear, for example, is the only one I can tolerate for warm weather runs, so it is worth it!) but not just for show unless it is very cheap (like, used)! At the same time, the Wal-mart one is getting truly awful and embarrassing. So, I replaced it at SportChek with this gorgeous hip length fleece lined Hoodie, by Burton. It is normally $100, 50% off. Love it!! Considering the ridiculous amount of use the cheap ugly Wal-mart one has got it, I’m sure this one will be well-worn!  I may actually wear it even more, since actually love it!! I often like to wear heavy sweaters instead of actual coats on milder winter days I will be in and out of the car a lot…more comfortable and less overheating. This will be perfect for such days…very comfy but nice enough to wear over casual clothes, in addition to work-out wear!

Any of my readers go Boxing Day shopping? Any good purchases?
