I get my eye-brows waxed once every 2 weeks like clockwork. I have a few places I know I can always get a walk-in and am always happy with, and pop by whichever one I am closest to when I notice my brows are looking ratty.
So today, during my break I pop by one of my tried and true places at a mall close to where I am for work. The girl recommends I try threading, since I am so pale and she says it will leave less redness. I have heard good things about threading, so I decide give it a try. Ummm…never again. Not there, anyways!!
The Good:
My brows look great. Very well groomed and neat. It is true, no redness. Also, the threading is precise enough that no touch up tweezing is needed.
The Bad:
It hurts like a bitch.
The Ugly:
She cut my eye-lid. I am not sure what happened, but there is a thin red cut (sorta like a paper-cut) on my left eye-lid, right above the crease. I am not sure if she caught it with the thread or her nail, but it looks ugly and burns. Of course, I didn’t notice until I had left, so I could not complain (will, I did notice, but I thought it was just a little mark form her nail or something, I didn’t realize the skin was broken).
That was not the only thing that sucked today. While on the same work break, I looked in a mirror and noticed that my right breast (clad in a black lace bra, thankfully) was hanging out of my new polka dot dress. Not out of the low neckline (which I always need to watch for with the DDD girls even though I use a safety pin to avoid being obscene) but out of the seam below the neckline…the seam that now has a tear in it long enough for my breast to hang out. I am not sure how long I was like that and I don’t think I want to know…but since I had a meeting at a school to go to, I could certainly not stay like that. So I had to buy a new dress, quickly as at this time it was getting pretty close to the time I needed to be at the meeting. The dress I got was nice, but nothing special more money than I would normally spend on a simple summer dress that I don’t even LOVE. Grrr.
A good thing happened though: My purse came!!! Yeah, it is beautiful!!! It was hard to tell the size of it on the contest picture, so I was quite pleased when it arrived and I realized it was a very nice size-more than big enough to fit all my essentials!! Not that I don’t appreciate a small bag (they are very ladylike) but bigger bags suit my lifestyle better and get more use!! Thanx Again Pinks and Blues!!!
Here is a picture of the bag on a doorknob, so you can see the size. Isn’t it pretty?:

My new dress ($36.oo at Reitmans):

My pretty yet painful threaded eye-brows and a torn eye-lid (that doesn’t really show up well in the picture. I considered drawing it in, but that would be dishonest!):
