I forgot to share

The man and I had a long awaited, lovely date night on Saturday. The girl stayed overnight at her grandmother’s so we had all evening and night to ourselves. She had an overnight with the other grandparent’s last weekend too…but we went to a Bat Mitzvah, so it was a fun night, but not quite a “date night”.

Saturday night we started out with dinner at Mariachi’s, a  Mexican restaurant we used to frequent often when we lived near there years ago, and have not returned to in 5 years. Umm…it was delicious. Guacamole. Enchilada’s. Churros. Fried Ice Cream…drool.

Then we went for a nice walk int he cool evening, stopping at Starbucks for some de-caf yummyness.

Lastly, we say Dan in Real Life (after a stop-over at home to deal with the…um…bi-products of Mexican food!). I am not so much a fan of the romantic comedy, but I do love Steve Carall so I really wanted to see it. He, as  usual did not disappoint. The movie was sweet, sappy and predictable, but had some very funny moments and was a great date flick.

I love date nights. We should have them weekly, or at least monthly.

I wish

I was one of the girls at work whose husbands sent her flowers today.

Even though I don’t like flowers.

And there was really only one girl who got flowers sent to her at work today.

But she is very sweet, and pretty, and slim…and I wonder if my husband would send me flowers at work if I was sweeter, and prettier, and slimmer.

Ah well, I got a card, and it sings Wild Thing.

Happy Valentine’s day!
